    you are right about …
you are right about the money laundering thing. Back in the 80’s the mafia and drug dealers used the same crooked method but the FBI destroyed everyone of them. In 2009 It works so well in theory. In actuality today …..that is easier said than done. Yes!! corruption is everywhere but one thing about the US is that the law works. You can and are guaranteed a fair trial in the US courts. No one is above the law. So much to say about Kenya

    Association with …
Association with which defence contractors? Zwizz… bring out facts not rumors. Kenya is one of the most corrupt countries in the world, and that’s a well documented fact. Silas Gitwai was a civil servant yet owns a whole residential estate in Madaraka area worth billions of Ksh. Where did he get all that money from with his low salary? And many others…

    i’ll excuse your …
i’ll excuse your french…but honestly @ 45, if that gentleman has been saving and investing since he was 20 or 25 making such an investment is nothing major…in fact it is expected he has reached that level. (and who knows he may be an idiot with a big inheritance)…don’t begrudge his success…he was probably penny pinching and juggling ventures while his agemates were at the bar

P.S. If US is so …
P.S. If US is so law abiding (i’ve lived there and I know its only the poor who are law abiding) how then did BUSH not get indicted for his association with defence contractors?? Truth about the US, and First world as a whole is that when you look at how the wealthy engage in politics and enterprise they are no different from Kenyans…we at least have the courtesy not to lie to each other

  5. Zwizzlezar Says:

    FIRST RULE OF MONEY …
FIRST RULE OF MONEY LAUNDERING…DO NOT USE YOUR OWN NAME!!! so the issues of social security numbers, credit histories and personal income will not arise. SECOND RULE…filter funds through a legitimate CASH business e.g. a convenience store, and report ‘dirty’ money as business takings. So if I make dodgy money, clean it through an accomplices legitimate business and he in turn invests in “hard assets” on my behalf there will be no explaining to do. All the papers would be in order.

    i agree. the …
i agree. the biggest problem with Kenya is this. In the US the president and the cabinet plus IRS officials are forbidden by law to own a business while in office. In kenya Kibaki, Raila , MOI and KRA own businesses at the same time Kibaki appoints the KRA director. Can the KRA director force Kibaki to pay taxes??? a minister is appointed and he immediately registers a business with wife and awards himself a contract within the ministry. After 5 years he’s a millionare!!! Easy

    Zwizzlezar, in …
Zwizzlezar, in everyone has a social security number. Everything that you own or have ever owned is tied to this number. to launder money in the US you MUST be selling DRUGS and hidding money under the mattress not buying a hard asset like property. US is not jua kali like Kenya. Money laundering laws were tightened after september 11 and the laws work in the US.

    Shame on you …
Shame on you Zwizzlezar lecturing Daniells71. Who does not know kenyans are the most currupt in the whole. If you can put your mother back to school you would understand economics issues like pro but not like a novice. Would you substantiate how someone can build a house worth 50million KSh and his monthly income is sh 70,000. Do not forget he is only 45 years old. Wake up and smell the phelomen, alternatively since you are one of those goons shut the mother usa is better

  9. Zwizzlezar Says:

    WHAT!!! more money …
WHAT!!! more money is laundered per capita in the US property market than any other part of the world… obviously you know very little about the kenyan property market and even less about the US one…don’t let people pull the wool over your eyes…i pity your naivete

  10. daniells71 Says:

    I would not be …
I would not be surprised if this is where a good amount of Kenya’s stolen billions are. Some projects are “honest” and “legit”, but some you can’t explain. That is why I love the US, because before you do almost any investment, your funds are scrutinized to make sure you acquired your wealth legally.
